Enjoy a leisurely passage along the River Thames as you head for Amsterdam. Explore this fascinating city where peaceful canals are criss-crossed by hundreds of bridges and world famous museums vie for your attention. Take a sightseeing canal trip, browse the flower market packed with blooms both familiar and exotic, or be tempted by the many enticing shops. Now Marco Polo will take you along the River Seine to the delightful medieval city of Rouen. An overnight stop here gives you the opportunity to explore this ‘city of a hundred spires’ with its poignant Place du Vieux-Marche, site of the trial of Joan of Arc. Optional excursions include a taste of the delightful Normandy countryside and Claude Monet’s House and Garden at Giverny. This morning you arrive at Antwerp, on the banks of the Scheldt, known as the ‘Diamond Capital of the World’ where you may well be tempted by the numerous jewellers, boutiques and chocolatiers. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, the Grote Markt lined by guild houses restored to their original 16th century splendour. Alternatively, opt for a fascinating excursion to Brussels or Bruges. On board ship, enjoy dinner and a final evening’s entertainment before arriving back in Tilbury.
