Sailing from Tilbury, enjoy a leisurely passage along the River Thames as you head for Belgium. This morning you arrive at Antwerp, on the banks of the Scheldt, known as the ‘Diamond Capital of the World’ where you may well be tempted by the numerous jewellers. Visit the Gothic Cathedral and the Grote Markt lined by guild houses restored to their original 16^th century splendour. Stop for a glass of famous Belgian beer and be tempted by the delightful boutiques and wonderful chocolate shops. Alternatively, opt for an excursion to Brussels or Bruges. Renovated to retain its medieval appearance, Bruges has emerged as a truly enchanting city. Picturesque market squares and romantic canals evoke a place suspended in time. Loose yourself around the cobbled streets, enjoy a canal boat tour, take a trip in a horse drawn cart, or visit any of the diverse museums. As an alternative, you may take an optional excursion to cosmopolitan Brussels with its beautiful Grand Place and Baroque guild houses. See ‘Manneken Pis’, the famous little boy statue and fountain, the Royal Palace and the European Parliament. On board Marco Polo, enjoy a delicious dinner and final evening’s entertainment before arriving back in Tilbury.
