Discover the spectacular fjords of Norway

Here’s a wonderful Norwegian cruising holiday that will bring you face to face with awe inspiring fjordland scenery and allow you to dip into the Nordic heritage of this wonderful coastal region.  From picturesque harbours to panoramic fjord views and pretty villages to imposing mountains, it’s all here to discover. Add to this a visit to Kirkwall in the remote Orkney Islands and you have a cruising holiday to remember.

From Leith, unwind as you sail across to Norway. Your first call is at the village of Hellesylt offering an excursion option to picturesque Geiranger at the head of the dramatic Geirangerfjord with its famous Suitor, Bridal Veil and Seven Sisters waterfalls. Åndalsnes is nestled between soaring mountain sides and where the famous winding Trollstigen Road offers superb views.  Cruise beautiful Romsdalsfjord to Nordfjord and the village of Olden which is ideally situated for the chance to visit the Briksdal Glacier.  At the head of the mighty Sognefjord lies Skjolden, from where you may choose to visit the interior or visit the wooden Urnes Stave Church, the oldest stave church in Norway. Set among rocky islands and inlets is the delightful old Hanseatic port town of Bergen with its historic Bryggen district of restored wooden buildings and busy harbour-side fish market. Take the Fløibanen funicular railway that climbs up Mount Fløyen for a wonderful view of the town. Your final call is Kirkwall, capital of Orkney, from where you may choose to visit the prehistoric village of Skara Brae and ceremonial stone circles at Stennes and Brodgar before you return to Leith at the end of a breathtaking cruise.
