A relaxing day at sea brings Ocean Countess to delightful Bergen famed for its historic Bryggen district, the heart of the medieval city, with its beautifully restored wooden warehouses and delightful shops. A quite different prospect is Åndalsnes, gateway to some magnificent Norwegian scenery including the Trollstigen, one of Europe's most amazing roads with its many hairpin bends. Now explore Geirangerfjord, considered to be Norway’s most beautiful fjord, which twists and turns before reaching the small village of Geiranger, nestled in a natural green amphitheatre and surrounded by tall granite peaks. Flåm is tucked between high cliffs at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the mighty Sogne, from where the spectacular Flåm Railway climbs up a 1 in 18 gradient to Myrdal. A brief stop is made at Ulvik to disembark those passengers taking the overland tour, before cruising the Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord from where you may take an excursion to one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls - Vøringsfossen. A final day is spent at sea before heading back to Hull.
