Combine history, culture and scenic delights

This short cruise is pure magic, incorporating scenic Pembrokeshire, the exquisite Isles of Scilly and a taste of Ireland. Make it a restful break with gentle strolls along harbours and beaches, take in some fascinating historic and architectural attractions, or dive into smart shops for some retail therapy – the choice is yours.  One thing is sure, after sampling the delights of Ocean Countess and our specially chosen destinations, you’ll want to return!

This mini voyage sails from Liverpool taking you first to Milford Haven on the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales gateway to some enchanting scenery and mighty Pembroke Castle, the seat of a succession of barons who played leading roles in shaping Britain's history. Perhaps take a shore excursion to visit the little city of St. David’s with its exquisite cathedral or the picturesque seaside town of Tenby with its narrow lanes and delightful harbour. St. Mary’s, in the beautiful Isles of Scilly, is a walker’s paradise with its woodlands, heaths and sand dunes.  Take the optional excursion to Tresco to see the exotic collection of plants at the famous Abbey Gardens. Across now to Southern Ireland with its great stretches of golden sand backed by rolling heather-coated hills. The Irish port of Cobh (formerly known as Queenstown), evokes poignant memories of Irish migrants embarking for America and from where Titanic embarked on her ill-fated voyage. Opt to visit nearby Cork with its majestic French Gothic three-spired St. Finbarre's Cathedral, or the ruins of Blarney Castle for a chance to kiss its legendary stone and receive “the gift of the gab”.  Enjoy a final night on board Ocean Countess as she returns to Liverpool.
