From Liverpool, head across the Irish Sea to Greencastle gateway to Londonderry whose ancient walls are reputed to be Britain’s finest. Donegal beckons and Killybegs, which boasts Ireland’s finest natural harbour, is a bustling town that has plenty for the visitor as well and a base for exploring Glenveagh National Park. Glengariff, at the head of Bantry Bay, retains an ‘olde world charm’ and offers excursion opportunities to County Kerry and the Beara Peninsula. The city of Galway is a free-spirited, artistic and bohemian city, with a warm welcome and an ambience all its own before reaching Cobh, from where transatlantic liners once sailed. Take an optional excursion to visit Cork or Blarney Castle. Then Ocean Countess drops anchor off St. Mary’s in the stunning Isles of Scilly, with a tour option to Tresco’s renowned Abbey Gardens. St. Peter Port on Guernsey has a captivating blend of Georgian, Regency and Parisian-style houses set in a tumble of terraces and a call at Falmouth in Cornwall offers the chance to visit the famous Eden Project. Finally you reach Milford Haven on the south-western coast of Wales offering tour options to Pembroke Castle and the picturesque seaside town of Tenby before returning to Liverpool.
