From Newcastle, sail across to Norway and the small town of Ulvik, where a brief stop enables those passengers taking the overland tour to Eidfjord to disembark. Cruise the splendid Hardangerfjord with a call at Eidfjord and the option to visit Vøringsfossen, probably Norway’s most famous waterfall. By contrast, today is spent in the old Hanseatic town of Bergen with its historic Bryggen area and busy harbour-side fish market. Perhaps take the Fløibanen funicular for a spectacular view. Your final call is made at Stavanger, one of Norway’s oldest towns, where the cobbled streets and preserved wooden houses of Gamle Stavanger evoke memories of its shipping and fishing heritage. Sailing from Stavanger, you will view breathtaking Lysefjord where towering Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock overlooks the fjord. This remarkable rock formation is one of Norway’s most visited natural attractions and the final highlight of this wonderful cruise.
