Explore the heart of the Norway’s majestic fjordland

A summertime escape and fantastic opportunity to cruise Norway’s dramatic coastline and spectacular ice-carved fjords! Experience the best of the breathtaking scenery as Marco Polo sails to picturesque villages and charming towns nestled in the very heart of fjordland. At each port of call a full programme of optional excursions takes you closer to an incredible landscape of vast glaciers, snow-capped peaks and ice blue mountain lakes.

Rising vertically out of inky blue waters, steep, lush, rocky walls set against a backdrop of snow-covered peaks! The vista as you cruise Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt is simply magnificent. Walk out on the bridge over the gushing Hellesylt waterfall that rushes through the centre of this tiny town. Optional tours embrace the beautiful mix of fjord, river and mountain scenery. Watched over by the towering Romsdal Alps on the shore of the beautiful Romsdalfjord, Åndalsnes is perfectly placed for you to take a tour including an exciting descent of one of Norway’s most dramatic mountain roads. With eleven, narrow hairpin bends, the famous ‘Troll Path Road’, is not for the fainthearted. Alternatively you might choose to take a train ride on the wonderful Rauma Line. Tucked away at the innermost reaches of Nordfjord, the peaceful little village of Olden is your gateway to the largest glacier on the European mainland. Optional tours give you the chance to hike to the Briksdal arm of the Jostedal Glacier, or take a boat ride on the stunning emerald green waters of Lovatnet Lake. Your final port of call is Skjolden and the option to visit Urnes Stave Church on the shores of the picturesque Lusterfjord.
