Enjoy a relaxing day at sea aboard Marco Polo before waking the next morning in the glorious Hardangerfjord. Your first call is Eidfjord from where you may take an optional excursion to one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls – Vøringsfossen, the impressive Sysen Dam and the Hardangervidda mountain plateau which is the largest in northern Europe. The extended stay here will enable you to attend an evening of music. A brief stop is made at Lofthus to disembark those passengers attending a musical performance, before cruising to Odda for an optional excursion into the fabulous interior. Flåm is tucked between high cliffs at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the mighty Sogne, from where the spectacular Flåm Railway climbs up a 1 in 18 gradient to Myrdal. Now explore Geirangerfjord, considered to be Norway’s most beautiful fjord, which twists and turns, passing several waterfalls, before reaching the small village of Geiranger, nestled in a natural green amphitheatre and surrounded by tall granite peaks. Delightful Bergen famed for its historic Bryggen district, the heart of the medieval city, with its beautifully restored wooden warehouses and delightful shops. A final day is spent at sea before heading back to Tilbury.

We are delighted to be welcoming aboard Gordon Parr (Scandinavian Folklore) on this cruise. Gordon, who is an ex regular Army, Household Cavalry, Southport and Bermuda Police. IBM and NCR. Gordon has also help postions such as, Marketing Manager in Mauritius and Hong Kong and Chairman Lonsdale Belts and Denims Plc.
We are also delighted to be welocming Capt. Vincent Williams (Maritime Heritage) aboard. Capt. William's career has been spent in the Maritime Industry. After a Public School education he went to sea as a Deck Apprentice. He received his first command aboard a foreign-going ship when aged twenty-nine. His sea going experience was almost exclusively aboard liners. The Passenger liners to which I was appointed were additionally engaged in cruising.
Working ashore he was employed as European Marine Manager for United States Lines. He also worked in the salvage industry as salvage master with full charge and responsibility. For about ten years he was the Principal lecturer in Maritime Operations and Law at a leading UK university. In that capacity he introduced and delivered a degree course in "The Cruise Industry."
Cruise & Maritime Voyages are looking forward to welcoming aboard Gwenda Price. Gwenda has taught in adult education for 37 years, involved with all aspects of crafts, needlework, black-work, hardhanger, largetera, patchwork, bargello, various techniques in card making for all occasions,ribbon-work, beadwork. She has taught people with learning difficulties, which she finds most rewarding when they achieved a completed project.
