My wife and I both enjoyed our recent cruise to Norway aboard Discovery. The staff were all excellent. Their friendliness made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the activities on offer during the days at sea. My wife enjoyed the craft sessions and we both enjoyed the varied programme of entertainment particularly the classical concerts and the performances by Pauline Daniels. The food and service in the restaurant were first class. We also enjoyed all the shore excursions we went on. The ship was kept extremely clean. We have already booked again for next year; I hope next year will be even better.

I just wanted to thank you all very much for organising the excursions in Russia. It must have been a great deal of hard work to meet all of the requirements of the Russian Authorities, and to cope with the constant changes. There were a lot of different excursions tailored to varied interests and levels of mobility and all went well. We were well informed concerning the necessary regulations, and the coaches and guides were as expected, better in some cases.
Your organisation was impressive. The accompanying ship’s guides were helpful and ensured no one was left behind! You carried out your duties with calm professionalism and courtesy. You can feel very proud of a job well done.

Having read the vastly differing reviews of the mv Discovery since Cruise & Maritime took it over I jumped at the opportunity of a very cheap overnight cruise from Bristol to Liverpool. To overcome the logistics of starting and finishing at different locations we drove to Liverpool, pre-booked car parking at Lime Street Station (with a discount) and caught the train to Avonmouth using advance booked tickets to minimise the cost.
It was a short taxi ride to Avonmouth, a typical freight port with minimal amenities. As soon as we reached the port at Avonmouth my wife was greeted with a big hug from Richard Sykes, the cruise director; and we have only met him twice before, once on Marco Polo and once on Ocean Countess. Our first sight of the ship allayed any initial fears that it was past its sell by date as has been reported. The white hull was bright, shiny and welcoming. At the moment the ship has a split personality with associations with its previous incarnation but all the staff are working hard to help Discovery find its soul and it will soon be giving Marco Polo a run for its money as which should be designated the C&M flagship.
All too soon the short cruise came to an end. It took about half an hour for those passengers disembarking at Liverpool to do so. Most seemed to be returning to Bristol by arranged coach, some were staying in Liverpool for a couple of days, we took a taxi to the carpark but the majority were staying on board for a round Britain cruise. I wish I had been one of them.

Where do I start to say Thank You, Marco Polo, from the moment I boarded to disembarkation, I have nothing but praise. The added pressure the staff and crew had to face on 16th April with the deep cleaning, due to an outbreak of Norvirus on the previous journey, each and every minute of the day, and always with a smile on their face, the cleanliness was impeccable. The entertainment crew were first class and the bars and restaurant were all beyond excellence. I suppose the only very small complaint ( and let's face it we Brits like to have a winge !!) is that it would have been nice if the Captain had been seen around the ship more and taking time to meet his passengers, instead of just being there for a photo shoot at dinner. I have returned home with 150% wow factor for the beautiful Marco Polo and her stunning and amazing crew, staff etc. Thank you all xx Very best wishes and long may Marco Polo rule the Fjords.

I have just returned from a very enjoyable cruise on Discovery from Bristol to North Norway. Although I did not see the Northen Lights to the extent I would have wished, I did enjoy seeing the stunning Norwegian scenery under a thick blanket of snow. The crew were always friendly and Richard Sykes the Cruise Director was excellent. He was able to put his hand to anything whether he was leading inter-denominational worship or performing with the Show Company. He is a credit to your company.

Congratulations Cruise and Maritime on a memorable farewell cruise of the Ocean Countess. From arrival at the superb new Liverpool cruise terminal to embarkation took only 10 minutes, our good sized cabin was spotlessly clean throughout, six course dinners in the impressive Kensington restaurant were varied, good quality and well presented. The breakfast in the "Boat House" was a lovely start to the day. The varied range of daytime activities and evening entertainment was professional. This cruise compares very favourably with other companies we have cruised with, and offered extremely good value for money. Well done Cruise and Maritime and I look forward to welcoming "Discovery" into Liverpool next year.

A memorable introduction to cruise holidays. The staff on board were all extremely friendly and efficient. They remained calm and professsional even under extreme and unusual weather conditions that caused damage to their working stations and ensured that all passenger were not harmed. I was particular impressed with the provision of gluten-free food onboard and the knowledge of staff about it.

Having returned from our hoilday aboard the Maro Polo, this being our third cruise I thought it was about time instead of ticking survey boxs something more was said regarding the trip below is a rendering of the way we see it. If your travelling as a couple or even going solo, You could not enjoy a holiday more than on the Marco Polo, The shere anticipation of your happy embarcation, And then the relaxationin in cosy accomodation. The new and old friends you will meet, will make the trip comlete. And for the staff who serve you well, nothing is to much trouble. With food thats good ,and plentifull your weight could even double. Entertainment abounds every day, with quizes games and bingo. Top class shows on every night you could even learn to tango. And when at last your homeward bound, aboard this Palace of Varieties. You,ll be so pleased that you found. The Polo with a ( w ) hole ,mintfull of memories . Hi, we got back from our French Leave (Marco Polo) yesterday. Roland and I had a wonderful time visiting beautiful places in Europe. The shore excursions were all great, we learned a lot of each island visited. My favorite island is St. Mary's (isles of Scilly) where the Tresco Abbey Gardens located. What a gorgeous place! Unfortunately we did not go ashore when we arrived at St. Jean de Luz, because the water was rough according to the captain therefore we could not ride the tender boat to do the shore excursions. During our cruise we visited Gijon, Spain - Roland had fun pouring the (hard) apple cider at famous factory, St. Mary's, at the Tresco Abbey Gardens (Isles of Scilly). We also enjoyed watching a carving on board, with the carving master from Bali, Indonesia. Made (the carving master) and I playing pingpong around 10 pm after his work was done. He was really good, I lost playing pingpong against him. I noticed that the passengers on the 9 day cruise were mostly British people over 60 years old. One of them said to me, that I was too young to be on that ship! I have to tell you, that they had the most amazing big band orchestra onboard lead by Chris Dean, his big band is called Syd Lawrence Orchestra. Everyone loves it! Our cabin on Marco Polo was in such a good position and so lovely to be able to see out. When we woke, we would open the curtains and see mountains and tiny villages and stunning waterfalls – was amazing. All the staff were great, our cabin steward was lovely, as was our waiter and the men that cleared the tables outside on deck were so attentive. We ate far too much, but you just couldn’t resist it. The evening meals were lovely and I really liked the fact that they displayed them at the restaurant entrance so you could work out what you fancied to eat.
