Crossing the Arctic Circle, view Svartisen Glacier before calling at Narvik which offers the opportunity to ascend Mount Fagernes by cable car or visit the fascinating Polar Zoo. Tonight, there may be the possibility of viewing the spectacular Northern Lights, a curtain of purples, blues and greens rippling across the night sky. An overnight stay in Alta offers an extensive range of optional shore excursions and gives a further opportunity to perhaps witness the breathtaking phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis. Tromsø, on the island of Troms, is known as the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ with its Polar Museum and Wilderness Centre and precedes a call at Åndalsnes which lies amid spectacular mountain scenery in the beautiful Romsdalsfjord. Then, in the delightful Hanseatic city of Bergen, discover its historic Bryggen district of restored wooden warehouses and enticing gift shops.  A final day is spent at sea to reflect on the highlights of this truly stunning voyage
