Relax and enjoy the facilities on board Discovery as you sail to Stavanger. Wander the cobblestone streets of the picturesque Old Town lined by charming white, wooden houses. Walk up the 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla and you’ve an incredible view of Ålesund, Norway’s art-nouveau town. Back at street level you can admire the imaginative ornamentation of the gabled and turreted buildings. During a leisurely day at sea you’ll cross the Arctic Circle and have the opportunity to view the incredible Svartisen Glacier from the ship’s rail before calling in Narvik. Here, an optional tour allows you to get close to wildlife at the wonderful Polar Zoo. A host of wintry experiences are possible from Alta including a visit to the unique Igloo Hotel, or an optional tour into the wilderness to search for the Northern Lights. In Tromsø, the capital of the north, you can visit the Polaria or Polar Museum for a fascinating Arctic experience before sailing to charming Åndalsnes. Enjoy stunning mountain and fjord scenery during an optional train ride on the Rauma Line. Characteristic wooden, gabled houses line Bergen’s picture-postcard waterfront. This historic city with a small-town atmosphere is a delightful end to your voyage.
