An exciting and colourful long weekend

Take advantage of the May Bank Holiday to sample life aboard Ocean Countess on this delightful break. In Amsterdam, take a sightseeing canal trip or an optional tour to see the magnificent Keukenhof Gardens. Then, enjoy a day and evening exploring the vibrant city of Hamburg with its medieval Hanseatic history.

Sailing from Hull, enjoy your first evening’s dinner and entertainment as you head for Amsterdam. Explore this fascinating city where pretty gable-fronted houses front peaceful canals and famous museums vie for your attention.  Take a sightseeing canal trip, browse the flower market packed with blooms, or dive into the many enticing shops. Your cruise is timed so that you can take advantage of an optional tour to see the dazzling array of bulbs in bloom at the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens. Hamburg, Germany's second largest city lies 70 miles inland on the banks of the River Elbe. This former Hanseatic League port emerged from post-war restoration to become a prosperous city of striking architecture. Explore the historic Speicherstadt with its century old warehouses and the city’s many rivers and canals crossed by hundreds of bridges. It was in the nightclubs of the infamous Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit, that The Beatles honed their talent in the early 1960s. Retrace their steps and visit Beatles-Platz which is shaped like a giant vinyl record. Alternatively, take an optional excursion to Lübeck, one of Germany’s most beautiful medieval cities whose centre is an architectural treasure chest. Spend a relaxing Bank Holiday Monday at sea before returning to Hull.
