Diamond Jubilee Highland Experience

Including the Spring and Jubilee Bank Holidays, this very special cruise is a wonderful showcase of some of the delights of Scotland.  Visit gateways to the Highlands with the chance to discover majestic mountains, dramatic coastlines, iconic castles, famous lochs and historic cities. A call at Rothesay on the charming Isle of Bute is a delightful bonus with which to end this cruise and to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Sail from Liverpool and cruise the Western Isles before calling at Aberdeen, where you may sample some of the best malt Scotch whiskies, shop for cashmere and tartan or stroll in the parks and gardens.  Leith is the port for Edinburgh and the resting place of the former Royal Yacht Britannia.  See Arthur’s Seat and the ancient Castle or perhaps be tempted by the shops on Princess Street. Today, Ocean Countess calls at Invergordon, gateway to the Scottish Highlands, historic castles, Culloden battlefield and mysterious Loch Ness. From Scrabster, on the remote north coast of Scotland, explore nearby Thurso which was once an important Norse port. Perhaps take an optional tour to the Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother’s former residence, or to John O’Groats. The famous climbing outpost of Fort William sits at the southern end of the Great Glen, overlooked by Ben Nevis.  It’s a mountainous area of great natural beauty, with villages nestled along the shores of Scotland’s longest sea loch, Loch Linnhe.  The Isle of Bute has been occupied for over 5,500 years. Discover Rothesay's classic Victorian seafront and the 800 year old ruin of Rothesay Castle. A gentle sail down the West coast ends your cruise in Liverpool.
